Dear Esteemed Professionals,
Greetings!
June has been a month of learning, collaboration and celebration for the Eastern India Regional Council. Every programme and initiative organised during the month reflected our collective commitment to strengthening the profession, embracing innovation and creating lasting value for our members, students and society. The overwhelming participation and wholehearted support received continue to inspire us to pursue excellence in every endeavour.
As we move forward, let us continue to embrace the spirit of NOW—not merely as a theme, but as a mindset that encourages us to act with purpose, learn continuously and lead with integrity. The profession is evolving at an unprecedented pace, presenting new opportunities alongside new responsibilities. By remaining adaptable, embracing innovation and upholding the highest ethical standards, we can collectively contribute to the growth of our profession, the development of our members and students, and the progress of our nation. Together, let us continue to build an EIRC that is dynamic, inclusive and future-ready.
One of the significant event of the month was the successful hosting of the National Students' Conference 2026 on 20th & 21st June 2026 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata, with the theme "ARC – Aspire • Rise • Captivate,". The conference witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 4,000 CA students from across the country. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Board of Studies (Operations), ICAI, EICASA of EIRC, my colleagues in the Regional Council, volunteers, speakers and every participant who contributed to making this conference a grand success. We were also privileged by the gracious presence of distinguished dignitaries including Shri Jagannath Chattopadhyay, Hon'ble Minister of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal; CA Rajesh Kumar, IPS (Retd.), Hon'ble MLA, Government of West Bengal and Shri Dilip Ghosh, Hon'ble Minister of Panchayat & Rural Development, Government of West Bengal, whose encouraging words greatly inspired our students.

From the Residential Refresher Course at the ICAI Centre of Excellence, Hyderabad, to specialised workshops on GSTAT Appeals, Artificial Intelligence, Firm Aggregation, Income-tax Return issues and MSME opportunities, EIRC continued to provide diverse learning platforms addressing contemporary professional challenges. The overwhelming response to our AI workshops reaffirmed the growing interest of members in embracing emerging technologies and preparing themselves for the future of the profession. Such initiatives reinforce our belief that continuous learning and technological adaptability will remain the defining strengths of Chartered Accountants in the years ahead.
Aligned with ICAI's vision of sustainable development, June also marked Sustainability Month, during which EIRC organised several meaningful initiatives, including the Sustainability Awareness Programme, International Yoga Day celebrations, Walkathon, Financial Literacy programmes, Tree Plantation Drive and Animal Welfare initiatives. These programmes remind us that our responsibilities extend beyond professional excellence to creating a healthier, greener and more inclusive society.
