Message from Chairman, EIRC
Dear Esteemed Members and Professional Colleagues,
As we moved in the next month after finishing our Bank Audit, we are quite relieved now after undertaking the Audit exercise.
The 25th Eastern India Regional Council in its first year 2025 - 26, has formulated an unifying Theme aimed at driving the growth of the Eastern Region and making you the part of the VIBRANT EIRC. Please fill the Google Form https://forms.gle/WHUnHcr46gzHsQux8. The form has been named “Appeal to become the EYE to sharpen the Growth Story of EIRC ”. Please give your precious 2 - 3 minutes in filing this Google Form and contribute in multifarious functions of EIRC as mentioned therein.
In its landmark first year (2025–26) the 25th Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of ICAI takes great pride in announcing 11 forward-looking initiatives for members and students, aligned with 50th Regional Conference – the Golden Jubilee Edition on the theme “EYE – Ethics | Youth | Empower.”
These undermentioned initiatives are not merely programs—they are expressions of care, innovation, inclusivity, and purpose, crafted to empower every stakeholder in the ICAI community. They reflect our core values of ethical commitment, youth development and meaningful empowerment through action:
1. Annual Membership Scheme – An unique single window payment model to physical CPE seminars by EIRC till 31st March 2026, encouraging continuous learning and ease of participation with hassle free Registration.
2. Chartered Accountants Benevolent Fund (CABF) – Reaffirming our commitment to support members and families in distress, upholding the values of compassion and solidarity.
3. Representation and Collaboration – Showcasing the strength and merit of Eastern India at regional with State Govt. local Authority and other departments at Regional Level through strategic representation.
4. Sustainability & Social Responsibility – Promoting eco-consciousness through tree plantation drives, e-waste disposal initiatives and plastic usage reduction—supporting UN SDGs 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
5. Elevating "We Care" – Offering enhanced medical and diagnostic support to our senior members aged 75 years of age and above with respect and gratitude for their lifelong service.
6. Women Leadership Programme – Harnessing the power and potential of women CAs by
building leadership capacity through structured development programmes.
7. Grooming Speakers – Training and nurturing aspiring speakers from the CA fraternity offering platforms to showcase their subject-matter expertise and become knowledge leaders.
8. Brain Gain – Turning the tide on brain drain by creating local opportunities in jobs and
entrepreneurship, making staying back in the native land a rewarding or a better choice.
9. “You Inspire” Initiative – Celebrating the multi-dimensional success stories of Chartered
Accountants beyond their traditional roles. From artists to industrialists, from academics to
public servants—these remarkable journeys inspire generations to take up the profession.
10. Enhanced Industry Connect – Building effective communication channels with industry
leaders and policy makers through interactive sessions, skill development programmes and
employment oriented collaborations.
11. “Ek Ghanta Desh Ke Naam” (One Hour for the Nation) – A heartfelt call for community services like visiting schools and orphanages, spreading financial literacy, conducting career counselling and fostering civic awareness.
These initiatives symbolise EIRC’s deep-rooted commitment to empower the present, inspire the future and uphold the ethical legacy that defines the Chartered Accountancy profession. The above 11 initiatives are included in this Newsletter separately with each individual QR Code given for you to endorse your comment.
Inauguration of New Premises of NCLT Kolkata Bench
The undersigned has witnessed in person in the Inauguration Ceremony of the new premises of NCLT Kolkata Bench at Corporate Bhawan, Newtown, Akandakeshari, Kolkata – 700 135 by Chief Justice (Retd.) Ramalingam Sudhakar, Hon’ble President, NCLT on 19th May 2025. Members of the NCLT Kolkata Bench and other locations were also present in the Inauguration programme.

Outreach Programme
Public Outreach Programme on The Income Tax Bill 2025 under the aegis of Direct Tax Committee of ICAI was held on 18th May 2025 from 2pm to 4pm at Bamongachi Uttaranchal Kreara Chakra, RCC, Rotary Club of Salt Lake City Calcutta. The speaker is CA. Suman Choudhury. A Blood Donation Camp was also organized on that day with 60 persons donating blood.
“Chairman Connects – “Aap Ki Baat – Council Ke Saath”
This conceptual programme will bring members and students close to the Regional Council. Their grievances and suggestions will be heard by Chairman, Members and Secretariat at the spot.

Work Life Balance Committee
In EIRC we have recently constituted a Work Life Balance Committee which will work on various programmes aimed at releasing the mental pressure and strain which we as professionals face sometimes due to workload. We have installed Indoor Games i.e. Carrom Board at 6th Floor and Chess in Member’s Lounge in EIRC, ICAI Bhawan, 7 Russel Street.

Theme for the 50th Regional Conference – Golden Jubilee Conference of EIRC of ICAI
The 50th Regional Conference of the Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), scheduled to be held on November 21st & 22nd , 2025, at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata, embraces the transformative theme “EYE – Ethics | Youth | Empower.”
This Golden Jubilee Conference celebrates that very journey— empowering professionals and students, recognizing youth as the torchbearers of innovation, and reaffirming ethics as the timeless foundation of the Chartered Accountancy profession. Most importantly, it reinforces our identity as “Vishwasniya” professionals— those in whom the nation, stakeholders and society place their unwavering trust.
As we commemorate this historic milestone, let us collectively renew our commitment to be rooted in ethics, driven by the energy of youth, and empowered through knowledge— to rise with purpose and continue building a profession that is both future ready and firmly anchored in trust.
